Privacy Policy

In short: ResumTube does not require an account and does not sell personal information. It processes the YouTube link you choose, a pseudonymous installation identifier, purchase status, and limited product analytics to provide summaries, enforce usage limits, and improve conversion and onboarding.

1. Who operates ResumTube

ResumTube is operated by Yohan Vyckemans Boix. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@resumtube.com.

2. Information we process

• Content you submit: the public YouTube URL, summary language, and requested summary length.
• Generated content: the summary returned to your device. Recent summaries are stored locally on your device unless you delete them or remove the app.
• Pseudonymous identifiers: an app installation identifier and the anonymous RevenueCat customer identifier. The ResumTube server stores a one-way keyed hash of the installation identifier for monthly quota enforcement.
• Usage and purchase information: monthly summaries used, subscription entitlement status, selected plan, localized price and currency, app version, build number, platform, locale, and onboarding or paywall events.
• Technical information: normal server logs such as IP address, request time, device/browser information, and error details used for security and reliability.

3. Why we use this information

• Generate the summary you request and show it on your device.
• Provide free and Premium usage limits without requiring registration.
• Process and restore subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google.
• Measure onboarding, paywall, trial, and purchase conversion so we can improve the product.
• Prevent abuse, diagnose errors, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Service providers

We share only the information needed for each service to perform its function:

• Google Gemini: processes the YouTube URL and instructions to produce the requested summary.
• YouTube/Google: provides the public video and thumbnail selected by you.
• RevenueCat: manages anonymous subscription entitlements and purchase status.
• Apple App Store and Google Play: process purchases, billing, trials, cancellations, and refunds.
• YVB: receives limited ResumTube onboarding, paywall, trial, and conversion analytics.
• Hosting and security providers: operate the API, database, logs, and network infrastructure.

These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own terms and appropriate legal safeguards.

5. Tracking and advertising

ResumTube does not include third-party advertising and does not use information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. Product analytics are used only to understand ResumTube onboarding and conversion.

6. Retention and security

We keep quota, entitlement, analytics, security, and operational records only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above or to meet legal obligations. Local summary history stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Information is transmitted using HTTPS, and installation identifiers used for server-side quota enforcement are stored as keyed hashes.

7. Your choices and rights

You can delete individual summaries inside the app, clear local information by removing the app, manage subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account, and ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export applicable personal information. Email contact@resumtube.com. We may ask for information needed to verify and locate a pseudonymous record.

Where European data-protection law applies, processing is based on performing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and improving it, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Children

ResumTube is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the product or law changes. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date.
